Thankfully, betting on their lives is OVER-
now it's time for love and freedom, with your help!

The greyhound belongs to a family of hunting dogs called sighthounds.  The slender, long legged sighthound hunts by spotting movement of a prey animal across a vast distance, then running the animal down with lightning speed. They greyhound, though, is a unique sighthound developed more for track racing than for hunting. Greyhound racing is a high-stakes, brutal industry that is fortunately being banned in more and more communities.

Keep Your Pets Safe & Healthy

Picture

Awareness is always key in prevention of emergencies, especially in the case of poison emergencies with our pets. In 2012, almost 91 percent of calls to Pet Poison Helpline involved calls involving dogs, and about half of those calls were for dogs that ingested human medications. It’s clearly wise to keep medications out of their reach, but there are many other common household substances that are toxic to dogs. Other common substances that are toxic to dogs include human foods, insecticides, rodenticides, and dietary supplements and vitamins.

Brush Those Teethies!
Read below for SPECIAL OFFER!

Picture
Don’t turn your nose up at Fluffy’s bad breath! Foul mouth odor is usually your first sign that your pet needs a dental check up! Poor dental health for your pet can lead to a myriad of other health issues, aside from also being generally uncomfortable. According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, more than 80% of dogs and 70% of cats show signs of oral disease by age 3. Since we have domesticated the dog, their diet depends largely on us, and consequently, so does their dental hygiene. Daily care, as well as annual dental cleanings by a professional are just one way you can help Fluffy lead a healthier, longer life.

The Mini-Poodle: Regal, Elegant and Adorable!

Picture
The miniature poodle is one of the most regal breeds. Standing at 10-15 inches and weighing roughly between 10-15 pounds they emit grace and elegance and are true aristocrats of the doggie world. The mini poodle has a graceful, small to medium sized frame with a rounded head and long muzzle, with oval eyes and close hanging ears. They have docked tails (optional) and compact, webbed feet. The coat is sometimes curly, sometimes corded or ribbed, and can be any solid color. There are many breed clips, but they are shown in a continental clip, but for pets the clip is based on owner preference.  They are smart, small and compact so they’re also ideal for any environment and their friendly, loyal disposition, plus low-allergen coat make them especially suitable for seniors and children.

The Dachshund: Funny, Smart and... Long!

Picture
This tenacious four legged friend originally hails from Germany, although it is ranked #12 in popularity among dog breeds in the US.  They belong to the hound group, although their appearance is slightly different than their fellow hounds. It’s this unique short legged, long body style that has made the breed iconic among dogs. Although they are short in stature, they make up for the height difference with big personalities. There are two different sizes of dachshund, 3 coat types, and an assortment of color variations making them very versatile in appearance. The standard dachshund is 8-9 inches in height, and 5-6 for miniature dachshunds. They weigh between 16-32 pounds in standard size or less than 11 for miniatures with a life expectancy of 12-16 years.
